Based on the novel by Khaled Hosseini, this film presents the story of  a Afghan immigrant who returns to his homeland in Afghanistan to help his old friend whose son is in trouble.  This epic tale of fathers and sons is a powerful story of friendship and betrayal and takes us from the final days of Afghanistan’s monarchy to the atrocities of the Taliban reign.  The movie is in Dari and English with English subtitles.  It is rated PG-13.  Popcorn and beverages provided by the Friends of the Library.
