A young woman stricken with severe diabetes chooses to live her life to the fullest despite her bad health.  She forms a strong bond with the women who hang around a Louisiana beauty shop to discuss the goings-on of their lives.  This film stars Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah, Olympia Dukakis, and Julia Roberts.  "Steel Magnolias" is rated PG.  Popcorn and beverages provided by the Friends of the Library.
