Eternity Row by S. L. Viehl
4 Stars
This is book 5 of the series. It keeps you turning the pages to see what happens to the main character. You can read them out of order, but everything will make sense if you start with the first one “Star Doc”. She goes to different worlds with different values than ours. Some are the same—slavery and greed for example. She is one of those characters who are always in trouble even if she is standing still!

Prisoner of the Iron Tower by Sara Ash

Gavril Nagarian has casted out the dragon-daemon from him and now that he is being driven mad Emperor Eugene has captured him and put him into the Iron Tower. This part I didn't care for as they torture him to find out about his powers. Astasia has married Emperor Eugene and all seems to be going well, even tho she seldoms sees her husband, as he is trying to conqur the other countries. His little daughter Karila (from first marriage where is wife died) believes she is Drakhaoul Child and keeps having nightmares about dragons that no one believes. Gavril finally escapes the Iron Tower and ends up fighting Eugene in a duel. To add to Eugene's problems his wife leaves him he thinks with her lover, but it is her brother. The Tears of Artamon are red rubies and whoever owns them is Emperor of all. Find out how Eugene loses them.

Lord of Snow and Shadows by Sarah Ash
5 Stars
The book is Science Fiction Fantasy and lives up to it. It has the trappings of 17th Century Russia with demon myths and dragon days. The main character is Gavril Andar who finds out on his father's death that he is now Lord Drakhaoul. Along with Kiukiu the Guslyar (talks to the dead spirits), Astassia Orlova Princess of Muscobar and Prince Eugene of Tielen who dreams of becoming Emperor of all. What I liked about it was the mystic and insight of the landscape and of the people themselves and the two main characters (Gavril & Kiukiu) and the gifts they received and how they deal with them. One good and one bad. I love Science Fiction Fantasy and when it deals with history it is even more exciting, even when it is embellished.

The End of the Matter by Alan Dean Foster
4 Stars
This book is the fourth in the space adventure books featuring Flinx, a young orphan boy, and his pet mini-dragon Pip. So far, all of these books have been good adventure stories appropriate for all ages.
